I have no views on the appliance, but note that the link is to a non-US site, and when they say "chips" they mean french fries.

1. They do mean fries.

2. The way this works is by circulating hot air within the the cooking chamber. It doesn't really deep fry.

I thought I would bump this old thread. I am thinking of buying one of these machines. It is 4 years since this thread was created ... there are probably more eGulleteers who own an Actifry.

Any opinions? How does an Actifry French Fry compare to a normal deep-fried French Fry? Are there other things you can make in an Actifry, besides French Fries?

Here is a somewhat longer thread about this gadget.
