No. Garland stopped its consumer line many years ago.
-
And I’m sincerely grateful.
-
Thank you, but I was in no way offended. Yale is where I bought my POS Garland (not Viking). I will never pay more than $1,000 for another range, if that.

“Sometimes it is the arrow that can make a better Indian. And that statement sounds somewhat wrong, these days.” Oh, I am just so sorry. I meant to say Native American, but to me it’s synonymous.
-
Well, consider yourself very lucky.
-
Yes. Fair enough.

I am tired of repairing my “high end” POS stove and won’t buy another expensive one again. Does everyone here cook only on $2,000 plus ranges?
-
Hmm. Not electric. I’ve never used induction, but I’m open to it.
-
So, can anyone make further suggestions for a stove?
-
Oops. So it is. Can a slide in and stand alone be used interchangeably?
-
After years of cleaning my stove I’ll be glad to risk sealed burners.
-
Can you please give me the model number or name?
-
Wow! Looks and sounds very good. Thanks.
-
I, too, distrust Frigidaire.

I would be very surprised if quality control was significantly higher for ranges of $2,000 and more. Unless something is handmade by one or two skilled craftsmen or craftswomen, quality can be a toss up. I thought this would be a good place to ask. Although it sounds like most here have very high end stuff, I believe strongly that with cooking and most other things, it’s not the arrow, it’s the Indian.

I also love the Trader Joe’s North Coast Brut, both rose and white crazy deal at $10.
-
I know it sounds impossible, but not absolutely everything is on Google.
-
When I bought it my Blue Star (not Viking, sorry) the company had recently taken over the consumer line from Viking. At least that’s how it was explained to me.
-
Of these, is any better made than another? Or are they all cheap junk?
-
I stand corrected.
-
I’m never buying anything from Blue Star, formerly Viking. Mine is an overpriced, poorly designed piece of something. Must be under $1,000.
-
My old Viking keeps breaking and I want to replace it. But definitely not with a super high end, expensive range. Can anyone please recommend a good 30 inch range with at least one very hot burner and not too much electronic gadgetry for less than $1,000? Reliability is paramount. Thanks very much.

Not sure how, but I’m very glad to have found this site. I very much enjoy cooking and care a lot about what I eat (most of the time). I think a great burger can be as stellar as haute cuisine and that tuna sashimi is often disappointing. I was a journalist/editor for about 20 years, the last 10 or so freelancing about wine, spirits and restaurants. Freelance gigs got very slim and I now deliver joy and happiness for FedEx Express. The paycheck comes on time every week and I don’t worry that my electricity will be turned off.
