  1. You are right, but I can't find such classes in Denmark... So I just have to find information elsewhere and try on my own.
  2. Like using a paint brush? But how is the colors applied? In the molds first or at the brush? And how are they been mixed into each other so nicely?
  3. How are these made? Applying yellow, orange and red and then smudge the colors with a sponge or something?
  4. Or use Callebaut 2815 (57,7% cocoa), which has a higher percentage of cocoa butter
  5. I was not talking about the Krea, but this HVLP pistol with 0,8 nozzle and then connect it to my own compressor and set the pressure around 40-60 PSI. It is a pistol from a car painting company - it might just be keychris that thought I meant the Krea 😁
  6. Sounds great! So you would think that it is worth a try?
  7. Of course... I meant around 3 bar = 40-50 PSI 😅
  8. I just realized that my 140$ airbrush with 0,3 mm nozzle and 25 PSI was a big mistake! I am able to buy a HVLP gun with 0,8 mm nozzle for 47$ and connect it to my own big compressor, then adjust the pressure down to around 3 bar and wola! (apparently the airbrush is sold by a car painting company, but what should that matter?)
  9. Hmm.. Yes that is a big difference. I have always been told not to clean the molds with soap, because it is desired to keep the molds greased in oils or so from previous chocolates. But maybe it is better to clean them 100% with ethanol or soap and clean marks from water drops off with some cotton wool or microfiber?
  10. I am sorry for taking your time, have to be better looking for my answers elsewhere before asking! Thanks for your reply
  11. And of course poolish the molds as first step with cotton wool - is microfiber better than cotton wool? When applying colored cocoa butter to the molds, is it unnecessary to spray the molds with pure cocoa butter first? 🤔
  12. As discussed earlier, I am still wondering how to get the shells like a mirror! I have tried applying a thin layer of pure cocoa butter in the molds before coloring and so, but they do not get shiny like this, for example; is it some kind of special cocoa butter mixture to achieve this shiny look?
  13. And which fluidity would you recommend? (fx Callebaut)
  14. Which chocolate percentage would you recommend for chocolate art? (strong chocolate, if that is a term 😂), I have an idea that white and milk chocolate is more soft than darker chocolate, but is there a percentage that is the best? If I need "strong" chocolate for chocolate art/sculptures?
  15. I will try applying more color in more layers! Maybe buy a better airbrush one day
  16. That might be the problem, I will try avoiding that
  17. Alright! I would try to do that I just think that the amount of cocoa butter coming out from my airbrush is very little? But I will try!
  18. Thank you for the reply! I am using the cheapest I could find (120USD, bought in Denmark) it is called PME airbrush & compressor kit. The nozzle diameter is 0,3 mm and the max pressure is 25 PSI. I am using a hairdryer frequently to keep the cocoa butter at around 32 degrees celcius. I would try to check Youtube and read the thread here on eGullet!
  19. What do you mean by hit the mold? When applying the colored cocoa butter with airbrush it wouldn't help to hit the mold, cause it is so thin layer? Or am I wrong?
  20. Now I tried the white in the back, and it is wonderful! My new concern is that when I spray my molds with the colored cocoa butter, it will not be smooth. The appearance is spotted, how can I avoid that? It is alright that the colors I apply like yellow, red and green is spotted, but when I have to coat the colors with white, the white is also spotted, and the problem is that when I fill with chocolate the white cocoa butter forms a pattern with the chocolate, which is undesired! Do you understand my question? Thanks! (I know that they look poisonous! I was just playing around with the colors 😂)
  21. Thank you so much everyone! I will make a try tomorrow, and let you see the result
  22. I have an airbrush to apply the colored cocoa butter 🙂
