How anyone got carrots from crosnes is surprising.....even with the pickling.. We grow them here and they are oddballs to describe....a member of the mint family, called Chinese Artichokes, named Crosnes after the French prince that brought them into Paris....and most put the taste between a water chesnut and a raw potato....now carrot.....that's a new one

There is a chance that parasitic wasps might control them during a long enough portion of their life cycle to knock them down.....and pheromone traps are an option....those 2 methods with absolute stringent field and machinery sanitation..I wish them the best....it is not going to be easy ..

Thank you for the review estufarian.....it is the best one I have read to date ...I have not had a chance to see Eigensinn and when folks come to this farm, I am usually asked.."have you eaten at Stadtlander's yet".....and all I have to discuss on that is based on bits of other's experiences....sometimes with a bit too much "cult blindness" for lack of a better term....but that review plus the conversations with the cooks that have worked up there and down here is a big help.
