What's the problem with bringing 5-6 bottles of wine to a restaurant. Do you bring your own glasses also? That could be a problem. Actually, you should invite 2 other couples and if everyone brings two bottles you are set.
  3. Nicholas in Red Bank. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!

    Aozora

Info on Il Forno here http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?act=ST...299&hl=il+forno I also have a story on Table Hopping With Rosie this week. http://www.njmonthly.com/rosie/rnews.html I was at Azora once and had to send back the fish as it tasted bad and was inedible. No one liked the lobster bisque and we were generally unimpressed with the food. Having said that I have heard good things about this restaurant and it may have been a bad night.

    Aozora

Hank--I'm thrilled that you have found a few restaurants to your liking in NJ! We were at Aozora once and had a very different experience than you had. However, I am hearing good things about this restaurant. Try Il Forno next. Very casual but great food.
  7. Is it BYO?
  8. OOPS!! Sorry about that.

Marge201 "Isn't it just the silliest thing that if someone has a saved review from a magazine or newspaper that they can't post it for everybody to see? I'll comply certainly but why are we even talking about this?" Not silly at all. Copyright laws prevent all of us from posting a whole review.

Isn't this type of hiring practice illegal? Wasn't Hooter's sued? Does anyone know the outcome of that case?
  11. rozrapp--Please tell us some other restaurants in that area that you would recommend.

It's ok to post a link to the paper's site.
  13. We had dinner at Delta's three years ago and found the food and service to be disappointing. However, they are still open so it might be worth a try.
  14. Haven't been in a long time but have only heard good things about this restaurant.
  15. love4god--Where did you go and how was it?
  16. " Where is Papillon? " Nutley
  17. The Inn at Little Washington which is in the middle of a 4 block town far from anywhere is successful because of the food and service. Why can't this be the case in the "Triangle?"
  18. If you can get a reservation Nicholas in Red Bank is the best restaurant in NJ but plan on spending $200. Did not like Matisse in Belmar.
  19. How about Luce on Bloomfield Ave in Caldwell. Haven't been there in years so I can't say how the food is now. Brushetta, Passiac Ave in Fairfield Aria in Fairfield--BYO Primavera, Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange. Can be noisey though. Highlawn Pavilion, West Orange. Scalini Fedeli in Chatham Serenade, Chatham (very expensive) Cafe Matisse, East Rutherford--BYO Tim Schafer's, Morristown
  20. =Mark--Is this where Havana was located?
  21. I also like Greek Delights which is next to Epernay.
  22. Read postings about Il Forno. Very casual. Excellent food.
  23. =Mark, Keep us informed on how the contstuction is progressing.

    FASCINO

Had another excellent dinner at Fascino last night. As soon as we were seated we ordered the polenta French fries to nibble on while reading the menu. Started off sharing an orrechiette, shrimp, artichokes and roasted zucchini pasta and a butternut squash soup. Entrees were a fabulous, perfectly cooked pork chop with broccolini and sour cherry sauce; halibut; and lamb ravioli. Everything was thoroughly enjoyed. We finished the meal with a pumpkin tart and biscotti. Fascino has to be the friendliest restaurant in NJ with the DePersio family greeting every customer and stopping by each table to be sure everything is ok. Service is very attentive with attention paid to details. For ex. when the waiter saw that we were ready for the second bottle of wine he immediately brought over new glasses.
