  1. David--Good seeing you here. I haven't been to Dish in years so please give us a report after your dinner. They were HOT when they first opened but I don't know who the chef is there now.
  2. LouCa's in Colonial Village Shopping Center, Rt. 27 and Parsonage Rd. BYO. Meemah a Chinese restaurant is there also. Constantine is not at Constantine's anymore. He owns the Metuchen Inn. I believe Contstantine's is still open but I haven't been there in years.
  3. The caterer should be able to give you names of places. Are you interested in a museum or the Liberty Science Center?
  4. John---Did you ever go by the name "Hot Dog John?"
  5. We're pleased to welcome David Lynch, wine director at Babbo, New York City, James Beard Award winner in 2001, and co-author with Joseph Bastinich of "Vino Italiano, a comprehensive book on Italian wine" for a Q&A session Monday and Tuesday September 9 and 10, 2002. You may begin asking questions at any time, and David will be here to answer them on the arranged dates. CLICK HERE Q&A WITH DAVID LYNCH
  6. Epernay is excellent, IMHO. I was at Dimitri's once and was unimpressed. Liked the decor and glasses though. Menu was Greek and Italian. How lucky for you that your sister-in-law has such impeccable taste.
  7. A Tast of Asia, Malayasian
  8. Casa Vasca Spanish Sangria Be sure to make reservations.
  9. What is the best way for a customer to deal with a bottle of wine that they believe is bad? What percentage of bottles are sent back at Babbo?
  10. Why this process is used? Is it for show or does it really make a difference in the taste of the wine?
  11. Both.
  12. Frankie and Johnnies?

That's what I said. I thought I was having a senior moment when you kept referring to David writing the review. Thanks for restoring my sanity David!
  14. Yeah--that was Lowell playing Dr. Tommy--actually people can recognize you from your shadow on the wall.
  15. Yes, it's easy to recognize the back of your head!
  16. David--How do you know which one I am and not sure about Lowell? I have no idea who those other people are! It was that type of evening. We grabbed people off of the street. Ask =mark. Maybe he knows. BTW--Did you dine out last night?
  17. Thanks for the posting. I'll be in Sydney next May and I think I will be staying at the Sheraton. How easy is it to get to these places and how far in advance would I need to make reservations?

    meritage

Cody Kendall from the Star Ledger reviewed Meritage and gave it 3 stars.
  19. So then, where do you like to dine in NJ or NY when you are not reviewing?
  20. Tommy--The napkin was as high as we all were! David--Next time I go to Nicholas come out and say hello and then you'll know who I am and who Lowell is!
  21. This question is from Cabrales. I moved it so it would not get lost with another question. RS Mr. Corcoran -- Following up on Paul's question, could you describe the historical experience/background that your two or three most frequent dining companions have had with cuisine and wine? Would you trust their opinions as though they were your own, and do you typically taste more than a bite of their dishes?
  22. =Mark What a great time we had that night. The food was great also. Yes, we certainly know how to appreciate fine wine!
  23. You can buy Legal Seafoods clam chowder at Costco.
  24. When you review a restaurant how much importance do you give the food, service, decor and ambiance? Are they all important? Can a restaurant get a good review if one of these areas is lacking?
  25. Anyone been here?
