  12. Cinque Figlie, 302 Whippany Road, Whippany is a lovely restaurant to have lunch—especially on a Monday when so many places are closed. We started off with shiitake mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat followed by ink squid pasta with grilled scallops and shrimp; and salmon Livornese. If you haven't been here this restaurant is also a wonderful spot for dinner With two glasses of wine the bill with tax and tip was $30 a person. Phone: 973-560-0545.
  13. There's some new information here: "Wholey Free Food, Batman" http://www.baristanet.com/

  20. As of today the audio archives only go to 12/10. I'll check in a few days to see if they have been updated.
  21. Carl Ruiz is a fabulous chef and I am sure many New Jerseyians will be traveling to NY to have his cuisine.
  22. Chef Carl Ruiz will be at Son Cubano, 405 W 14th St, NYC as of Jan. 2. 212-366-1640.
  23. Highlawn just got an Excellent from David Corcoran in the NY Times. There is a hotel next to The Manor which is 1/2 mile from Highlawn.
  24. I've been there a few times. It is right next to my office. It is a great place for steak in NJ. I am not really a steak person and that is certainly the focus. The decor is a bit garish. In my humble opinion. I also prefer BYOB restaurants because I love wine, Strip House has a liquor license with a pretty good wine list but selections by the glass are not that great. It is certainly not a favorite but if you want steak in that area it is probably your best choice. Peter Conway Mano A Vino Montclair Food and Wine Blog ← I had a very good steak at The Strip House. Also I was there for lunch and it was lovely. They have redecorated the restaurant & the "girlie" wallpaper has been removed.
  25. If anyone is interested in having their name on a private "Dining Club" list please send your name and e-mail address to Curlz.
