  1. "ideal" as far as the posting members of egullet consider ideal. their (NYT) reach and target, like it or not, is well beyond what some might like or appreciate. other than that, i'd nominate me before anyone else, because i like the way i write and agree with my opinions usually 100 percent. until tomorrow, when they're likely to change.

i got that impression, as most places in the US at least tend to use canned regardless of availablity. i happen to like canned in thai soups, and i'm a bit disappointed when i see fresh. your input is appreciated.

you were shocked when the ice cream was melted...and it was delivered? it's sometimes hard to judge a restaurant by delivery, melted ice cream aside. food has a way of overcooking and whatnot. although greasy food is yucky and likely not a side-effect of delivery.
  5. c'mon kid it ain't blank. try again. Una Pizza Napoletana is located at 349 E. 12th St., New York; (212) 477-9950. Hours: Open starting at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at noon Saturday and Sunday until, as always, "sold out of fresh dough."
  6. spiced processed pork product. like spam, but better, because it's from NJ. invented by John Taylor. www.taylorham.com
  7. i hesitate to post this, because i want this place all to myself. perhaps the single most exciting pizza experience of my life, second only to, or i suppose tied with, anthony's pizza at his Point Pleasant shop (now closed). they don't serve liquor, but will in the upcoming weeks. be prepared to wait. last night was opening night, and the whole world apparently knew. http://www.app.com/app/story/0,21625,1077339,00.html you're welcome.
  8. a/ the 4th post in this thread. still. b/ read it and tell us. you're a smart guy, and the words are small.
  9. too crowded on prom night kid.
  10. China 46 last night kid. steak frites and country pate for lunch kid.
  11. i just got this. only took me about 40 days.
  12. C46. more importantly, where am i going tonight? i ask this a bit late as i'm heading out in about 4 minutes.
  13. what's the word.
  14. here's a hint: i counted at least 8 new BYOs, in bergen county alone, in the link i provided above.
  15. excellent post, Ira. thanks for the taking the time.
  16. here's a thread. Antique Bakery in hoboken does exceedingly well with italian bread.
  17. at first i didn't realize that you were referring to northerners, which makes your comment unfunny, but rather to the team, at which point i was going to suggest that there's a great little cuban place around the corner from the stadium that's practically a destination spot. but don't tell anyone.
  18. i was kidding. see: although, if one were to rate the usefulness of your "recommendations" on this thread, one might come up with a relatively low number.
  19. you are so completely useless. have you been to Blend? do tell.
  20. actually, i was referring to proving you wrong as you seem to invite it for whatever reason.
  21. actually not at all. in fact a friend yesterday suggested that she couldn't have vietnamese food for dinner because she had it for lunch. i suggested that vietnamese people eat it 3 times a day every day and that was no reason to not have it for dinner. you make good suggestions, 'specially mignon.
  22. perhaps only if there's no special event.
  23. this link may or may not be helpful, and certainly doesn't seem very up-to-date. i'll throw in a suggestion of Legal Seafood in the paramus mall, along with Napa Valley Grill in same. i know LS doesn't allow smoking, has a nice bar area with TV's, and has decent food. can't be sure about NVG, though. NVG also has some sister restauranst in the area including Pacific Grill in paramus, which might be worth contacting regarding your requirements. and South City Grill might be worth a call, but most likely allows smoking.
  24. byo works for tonight, as i'm meeting a friend and not completely on my own. but i just realized i had thai food for lunch.
