  1. Glen Rock and Emerson are not that close. Why not sell your products in a location closer to Emerson?
  2. [Yeah, but you can get a pizza with Halal gyro meat on it. That has to count for something. ←
  3. I'm not schlepping to Denville from Tenafly to do fish shopping! ← I did not imply you should shlep to Denville. I have found it to have a large selection of fish but I guess it depends on what you consider large.
  4. Went last evening for at least the 5th time and can most happily report that we experienced "no dip". Everything from service to food was as always, exceptional. For my wife and I and our family and friends it has become a destination restaurant and for good reason. Not to open old wounds and discussions but if only Northern Bergen County had anything even close. ← This is a great restaurant. I was there last week for the 4th time and also saw no decline. Nothing in Bergen County comes close.
  5. so i ask again: which part "isn't exactly true." ← keep asking
  6. [oooo a game! i love games.] it is best to read the official Whole Foods write up rather than creatively writing your own interpretation.
  7. [whole foods isn't taking a stance against killing lobsters, or even how they're killed. they're taking a stance against the treatment of live lobsters as they feel it is inhumane to store lobsters in the way that they are stored throughout the supply chain (which only ends with them, and then the consumer). Whole Foods has no control over how the supply chain operates, so they can do nothing to change that other than to not be a part of it. punishing a company for taking the moral high road. that's good stuff. ←
  8. [Ditto. And frankly, there are NO fishmongers in NJ with a large selection of fish. Unless Citarella opens a branch up soon. ←
  9. [The Pizzeria they own next door shouldn't be overlooked — they do both deep dish and thin NY-style pizza (with Halal mozzarella cheese). the Pizzeria next door used to be great. It has gone downhill.
  10. any reports on the food at all.
  11. what is your source. What makes you so sure it is not coming to Paramus.
  12. They would have to a miraculously rapid job to open in July.. No sign of any construction yet... ← agreed. A July 4 opening and no announcements nothing. Looks the same for the so called huge Whole Foods in Paramus - nothing happening.
  13. drove by Office Depot yesterday. I did not see any signs or any indication of a Trader Joe's opening. Also Whole Foods was supposedly opening in the former Bergen Mall. It must be a long process.
  14. is there any information on the Trader Joe's opening in Paramus? has it been verified.
  15. "Whole Foods are springing up around where I live" where are Whole Foods springing up. There is one new one opening up in West Orange and another supposed to come to Paramus that has not even been approved by the Paramus town planning board. So how can one say Whole Foods is springing up.
  16. $34 for all that fish that seems very cheap considering toro was included.
  17. i don't see any rice, but chirashi or chirashi-sushi is essentially, by definition, fish with rice, generally below. ← if you look closely you will see a little rice below. looks great
  18. Special Chirashi Sushi, chef's choice Do you recall the price on this. Also this looks like sashimi with some rice below.
  19. hopefully the service at Passione will be better than Epernay. I always found the service at Epernay so bad that it ruined the whole experience even though the food was very good.
  20. had a great chicken sandwich there but it had the most unripe avocado in it possible. Great bread and chicken but if an avocado is hard as a rock why include it.
  21. it was mentioned in a previous post by another poster that some food for NY Times writer to allow proper sampling was comped. If this is not correct, I apologize.
  22. I for one would prefer know I'm getting the best food possible, when it's available. ← It would seem logical to let customers know in advance if the place will be closed so they are not plannig ahead. No message or anything. Good Friday or not the place may or not be closed with no warning. After a few times it is not worth it for me.
  23. Service at the fish market has gotten much worse since the restaurant opened. They have several people taking orders that do not know how to cut fish. They take the order and then go looking for someone to cut the fish. This place does have great fish but the guy who knew how to cut the fish now works primariliy in the dining room. They had 2 people working the other day taking orders in the fish market part of the store and neither knew how to cut fish. It would certainly make sense to train one or both of these people instead of just having order takers who look for someone to cut fish.
