    Honey

we love the white honey. they sell it at my husbands tea store. we always have some on hand. supposedly harvested once a yr in hawaii off some certain plants from the bees. i can ask him for the details. i am sure i am leaving something out or mixing it up. anyway. its like frosting in its consistancy. the tupelo honey we have is black sage and its really interesting. there is a strawberry honey in a bear container we like. i don't know who makes it. will have to check.
  2. my DH is a manager of teavana and had been dying to get an electric kettle. they have a 60$ model at his store he had been eyeing. i found a brand new GE electric kettle at a garage sale for 3$. he has been happy with it and we use it everyday. we drink loads of tea. i do wish i had more counter space. that is why i loved the stove top pot. i was very reluctant to the idea but since i bought it and have been using it i love it. it really is much faster.
  3. i haven't seen the one i use on here so i thought i would put in my .02. i have a $20 hamilton beach model that i got from big lots and i use it all the time. i, of course, have never used a fancy machine so i can't compare but it really does make good ice cream. i was hesitant to spend a lot because i didn't know how much i would use it and thought my husband might not understand if i spent $50 on a machine.(we are a one income family-with small kids) when mine breaks though i think i might go with the cuisinart, its probably more durable.
  4. i have the opposite problem here in fl. we have summer 9 mths out of the yr. 39 degrees? wow, yesterday here it was 106 heat index. i am jealous..the ice cream looked really great. garrison keillor is a favorite in our house.
  5. wow, i had no idea! that interesting. i've been in fl my whole life. everyone needs a vacation.
  6. i am in north florida- jacksonville, so i'm pretty sure theres no amish in this area. i will let you know if i need some help. i am going grocery shopping tomorrow and i will see what they have. they might be able to order them for me too. the seasonal thing makes sense too. its like people only cook from october to january. thats when i see tons of recipes in the paper and supermarkets selling lots of baking items.
  7. what a great website- i couldn't even look at everything. i ordered a catalog. if i can't find them at the store i will maybe order some from there, and a few bread pans.
  8. thanks lime chips, im trying to think about that one. what would you make with those? key lime cookies?
  9. you are right. i just got off my lazy bum and looked up cinnamon chips and hersheys came up. they have been around since 2000. so now i just have to see if my publix carries them.
  10. this is my first post on here and i know you all are full of such great information that maybe you can help me find something. i got the panera bread cookbook from the library and the recipe for cinnamon bread calls for cinnamon chips. i have never seen these anywhere. do i need to go to a specialty store or are they at the supermarket and i had no idea??i am hoping i can find them in town. i really don't think i want the bread enough to spend S&H on chips. thanks!
