    The Wine Clip

Glasses and mugs. Don't see the stemware. http://store.yahoo.com/sanriostore/categor...ccessories.html
  2. Bowie & Iman are now signed to do Hilfiger ads.
  3. You might check at Bristol Farms or one of their associated kitchenware stores.
  4. There was a piece on NPR today about the N E Journal of Medicine and how they were the first publication of any repute to have their writers reveal if they had any financial interest in the subjects they were writing on. Apparently a tendency had developed for certain researchers findings to coincide with their employment/investments. So to avoid conflicts of interest, the Journal requires disclosure. I haven't seen the Bayless ad but I doubt there's a subtitle advising that a small fee was paid for Mr. Bayless' participation. I guess if Bayless truly believed in the product he wouldn't have taken any fee given that the product is claimed to be a positive step.
  5. "If you could get your sister to leave the water, mon cher, we could assemble our Rubens Sandwich."
  6. Demi would be the woman in the water. Kim Cattrall would be au naturelle.
  7. It was good for me. Was it good for you?
  8. "You see, there seems to be some kind of a communication problem, honey... because I... I am a lonely guy from outta town, y'know an'... an' I want some ACTION... what I'm talkin' about is, I wanna... a-a-steaming... succulent... ever-widening, gooey, drippy, runny kind of a hole with a... with... how shall I put this... what say we hop in the trunk of your Citroen AN' GET OUR ROCKS OFF..." apologies to Zappa
  9. As for Flo, I've always found their Julien tasty in a just folks kinda way. For seafood, try Taira. It's a relative bargain. And good.
  10. "And now for the amuse-bouche...."
  11. What! You don't want to eat in a car?
  12. India Pale Ale? http://www.beerhunter.com/documents/19133-000723.html
  13. A rationale for getting that PDA?
  14. I agree with your approach. I'd say either the LA Weekly listings or Chowhound are most useful in ferreting out overlooked places in LA/OC.
  15. Thinking about this a little more, Zagat is like Restaurants For Dummies. If you know nothing, you can learn a lot in a hurry up to a certain level. Some never go beyond that. But folks who post here, generally have gone beyond; some, way beyond.
  16. Especially if the kid(s) is/are trying to help.
  17. This could inspire a new Keller dessert, like that dead dog cake Carolyn wrote about (not a Keller production).
  18. Alas.
  19. I think they periodically do evenings with wines provided by LA Wine Expo, a WLA store that has lots of champagne and various other wines (tho few French beyond champagne).
  20. If you like art, Clos Pegase and Hess have nice collections. If you like the films of Coppola, there's lots to be seen about him at Niebaum-Coppola. If you just want to taste some good wine with the winemaker, call White Rock Vineyards and make an appointment. I think there's details at whiterockvineyards.com. (707) 257-7922. The winery has the simple virtue of making only 2 wines: claret and chardonnay.
  21. America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between.--Oscar Wilde
  22. They don't put mustard on it. They have 2 types of mustard you can apply yourself, or not. But it would be funny.
  23. I'd say half the "missing" carts in LA are possessed by the homeless who use them to haul around recyclables and to cart their worldly possesions about. So, I suppose your modest proposal could solve 2 problems.
  24. I think they tried these for a while in LA but gave up on the idea. The baggage carts at LAX seem to work on a quarter back (out of $1) basis. And there's lots of guys who are willing to grab the cart and return it in a hurry.
  25. We have these all over LA. It's a pain in the ass if you were used to walking to the store and wheeling your stuff back home. Now you have to drive or bring your own cart.
