Heh, walked into that one - forgot about the dirty minds of a lot of (most) cooks!

Sous chef, executive chef, garde manger, chef de partie, demi-chef, ... and terms I've recently heard watching Gordon Ramsay shows (they're usually intended as insults): commis, porter, ...
Executive chef is the head person, but sous chef is more vague: between the typical cooks and the executive chef? Wikipedia is pretty sparse on cooking positions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Food...ion_occupations
Anybody have definitions?

Ugh, that "squeezle" scene. Porcupine served with the quills mixed in! And the dead critters in the bottles - they make whiskey (or whatever it was) from them?

I recently got a KitchenAid KFPW760OB 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor - managed to get it for $145 too (promotions, codes, free shipping, etc.) plus a set of cutting boards (wondering if those will ever arrive though). It's great - lots of attachments and the small inner bowl is kind of convenient. I checked out Cuinisarts, but the general consensus seemed to be that Cuinsinarts weren't as good as they used to be, and that Kitchenaid was better (quality, features, assessories, etc.).

New Jersey...I think A. Bourdain should have called in to Rocco's radio show.

Which show would get more viewers?
Show 1) The winner gets to own and run their dream restaurant in LA.
Show 2) The winner gets to be a line cook at a restaurant in London.
#2? Maybe Michael will appear on Boiling Point.

I can't remember where I heard/read it, but Michael will apparently get $100K/year to take the abuse that others are lining up for free to receive.
What are the various kitchen positions?

I think it's pronounced "com-mie."
