  1. Just wanted to update the threads with King's Village reccomendations to let everyone know that they are now closed as of 11/20/2005.
  2. Update: Ubfortunately King's Village on Rt. 27 is now closed. Went by the other day and there are newspapers covering the windows and a sign in Chineese on the door. Too bad, too. those dumplings were the best I ever had.
  3. I thought you did a great job this morning, Rosie. It's nice to put a voice to all of your posts. Thank you for the information about the restaurant in Rahway. I live in the next town over and had no clue about it. One question: Where is the Franks pizza in Edison located? edit: The radio show tends to cut out anywhere north of Linden on Rt. 1
  4. Thank you so much. I can't wait to try this place. Out of curiousity, are these items off the Korean menu not usually given out? If possible, could you post how to ask for the menu in Korean?
  5. the scicillian rocks at Santillo's. If I was going for the first time I'd definately get the scicillian. Their pies are named by different years (a 1958 pie or a 1960 ). There are at least 6 different styles of puzza represented at Santillo's. They also do have sandwiches as well as home made bread after 4:00pm I beleive,
  6. The Old Country buffet on 35 mentioned is located on Rt 9 South just after Ernston Rd. It's approximately 5 miles after the bridge when heading south.
  7. I know this is a bit off topic. It only concerns Centrel New Jerseyans so I didn't know where to put it. The owners of Stage Left have a brand new RADIO SHOW on WCTC 1450 AM. They broadcast Monday-Friday from 11:00 AM to Noon. It's loaded with insight into the restaurant buisness and the guys have tons of good stories. They limit the call-ins to one day per week (Thursday) and I've found their show fascinating. Recent topics have included "Professionalism in The Food and Wine World" with John Fischer, Professor at The Culinary Institute of America and yesterday they had a discussion about Heritage Foods a collection of small farmers doing buisness the old fashioned way. For those of you who are out of range of CTC there are some shows up on the internet that can be listened to with Quicktime HERE
  8. With Friday coming up the best Challah I've found in the area can be purchased (I beleive only on Friday's) at the Buttery Bake Shop at 397 Main St in Metuchen. I've tried Challah from nearly every bakery in the area and this shop was my favorite. If you're there after three there is a chance the Challa will be sold out. I'll second La Bonbonniere 2062 Route 27 (Nixon Plaza) for their rye and they also make very good cakes.
  9. Little bit of olive oil, a little bit of lime juice, and salt. Insanely good
