TRY the stretch on broadway!!! Newports best and off the well beaten tourist path! a great funky culinary block... NOREYS - fanstastic food, great atmosphere and a great great staff Salvation cafe - Asian fusion seriosuly one of the best restaurants in Newport, DO NOT MISS THEIR PAD THAI... or the rice paper steamed codfish with wasabi mashed.. and the drinks are killer as well. I would miss tuckers, as everything is covered in some sort of heavy sauce, my escargot died not from cooking but drowning. and all this hype about the spiced pear is overrated. its a hotel. get out. explore.

Please help--- friends are throwing a fun weekend away and have rented a house 6 hours away. A fun casual-ish dinner on saturday night and I offered to help, an offer that then turned into me handling all of the hors d'oeuvres. Which normally would mean ecstatic fun for me but...The dilemma is that I dont want to be cooking all day long Saturday, I have to travel 6 hours, so anything pre made must be kept, and these people eat like wolves. Was thinking frozen spinach puffs, etc. any ideas?? it is very much appreicated! btw. I am new here and I cant see how I missed this site for so long--ITS FANTASTIC!
