Great images, indeed. Looking at your restaurant visits, you have hit a couple impressive restaurants in western Europe. I would also like to hear more about Restaurant Dieter Muller and Hof van Cleve. I also noticed that you went and had the white truffles at Mosconi. I was there a couple of months ago and would love to hear your comments on the place (in the appropriate section, of course). For the risotto.

Not to quibble, Daniel, but this meal probably occurred in2004! It may have started in 2004, but the question is when you signed the check.

Thanx for the heads-up on butter, molto e. Looks interesting and somewhat wacky. The truffle popcorn excites me. And I like the fact that they have a cheese course.

I find it surprising that people have had multiple experiences at Alinea without making it to Moto or Avenues. But I am sure that will change in the coming year.

Rock and Roll McDonalds. No, really I want to go. I want to have a Royale with Cheese and some pommes frites , enjoy a milkshake all while sitting on a Barcelona chair. It sounds all so international. Sweet Baby Ray's. The one that had the bbq sauce to be found at the grocery, has opened up a restaurant out in the wee suburbs. Takkatsu. Been to their North Shore location many times, because of proximity, but now that they have moved, I haven't had the time. They make a good weiner schnitzel. Trader Vic's. Don't close on us now. I need my half-priced Thursday mai-tais. Matsumoto. One word, Kaiseki. Although it would be nice to have the first experience at an authentic Ryokan. Red Lobster. It has been way too long since I was there. I miss there beverages served in fish shaped glass.

We were at Alinea back in early November and this was not on the menu (I still intend to post about that experience more fully as soon as I can). For now, I'll just say that on that particular night, the Tour was the best of the 3 times we've "taken" it. We're back at Alinea in couple weeks and I hope we get to try the kobe lozenges. =R= ← And the white truffle <cough> explosion <cough>?

Walking around the center of Luxembourg, I found myself grinning.

Chocolate cake, with chocolate ice cream and raspberries.

Gorgonzola, poached pear, frisee w/sherry vinaigrette, topped with shaved white truffle.

Salad of arugula, grana padano, topped with shaved white truffle.

Foie gras on foie gras risotto, topped with shaved white truffle.

Beef tenderloin on saffron grits, Perigord sauce, topped with shaved white truffle.

Sturgeon on potato-lobster hash and lobster sauce topped with mache and a sweet corn and black truffle butter, topped with shaved white truffle.

Seared scallop on whipped potato w/mascarpone and green pea puree, topped with black truffle relish, topped with shaved white truffle.

Let me just say that it was trufflicious. I woke up the next morning wanting someone to shave truffles on my omelette. A little late with the photos... but here you go. Thursday Night Truffles.
