So they didn't melt on the way to you, papabell? ← Nope and I live in the Hotlanta heat.

Yep just got my Brigitine Monastery fudge. Really good stuff. I really want use a lot of bad puns regarding Katie's description, but instead I'll just say order it.

Henry's Smokehouse is maybe three or so miles off the Woodruff exit. It's generally considered the best 'cue in Greenville. It's a notch below the NC top one's but very good. Sticky Fingers is probably the best of the 'cue chains and is off the same exit but a little closer to the interstate. Henry's BTW, does have a very good spicy SC sauce.

Do they have water ice in Pittsburgh? It is an Italian-American thing(ain't it?) so I can imagine it there, can anyone confirm? ← i was in pittsburgh maybe a month ago and didn't see any, but i wasn't really looking. there are italians out there, though. rita's was recently bought by a pittsburgh-based company. ← Scuze me for my south Jersey roots, but Diane's in Voorhees and Coneheads in Medford, both with homemade wudder ice have them lining out into the parking lot for a reason.

Milt is correct on ALL accounts. I could go for some Azteca Groceria menudo right now.

Now you tell me AFTER I spent $48 bucks. It should arrive just in time for the family coming into town so we can do Fralinger’s and Robbie Bennet comparisons. I dunno. We have someone who does a ton of business with Mars and we’ve been shipped tons of chocolate at all different times of the year with no problem. Katie, I am appalled that they have not used your “orgasmic” testimonial under their customer comments. Don’t they know who you are?
-
Monks....orgasmic. Too easy. I trust your opinion so I’ve told the wife to order some. She loves spending money. So they will put Fralingers to shame?

The Miel Gateau is absolutely the best dessert I've ever had, anywhere, ever, ever, ever. From his site it's "Rum-kissed chocolate sponge cake dark chocolate mousse, vanilla Bavarian".

I've been known to darken Woody's doorstep from time to time. Great drinks, great dancing. A very dear friend of mine owns The Bike Stop and I certainly stop in there from time to time. Heck - I even worked there when they had the Quince Street Cafe next door, back in the day. And yes. I was the token straight chick on the staff. But the leather queens loved me. I remember having a customer insist that my breasts couldn't be real when I was waitressing in a low cut French Maid's costume one Halloween. I told him it was good genes, not a good doctor. ← Talk about discrimination! As a flaming heterosexual I’ve tried that line twice. The first time I get a kick in the....and the second time I got a lawsuit.

As far as markets in addition to what was stated, Fresh Market is an upscale grocery. NY Butcher has top notch Angus Beef and awesome chicken. Alpine is within reasonable distance of the highly touted Super H. Milt is very right about Dick & Harry’s as far as other restaurants. In the same shopping center as NY Butcher is Bia’s Pizza which is the same concept as California Pizza Kitchen, just much better execution. Marlow’s also in that shopping center is very good tavern food. West of you is Taco Prisa, great cheap Mexican breakfast and San Miguel another groceria that has excellent real Mexican burritos–no sour cream, cheese etc but the real thing. Also from what I hear avoid that crappy pizza place in Swiss' shopping center.
-
First of all the Swiss Alpine Bakery is a very good place in and of itself to eat. Great chicken soup. I’ve never had a bad meal there and I’ve had several.. Assuming they have not opened a second location and you are at the one on Highway 92, these are all in your area Chinese: Xian Chinese Indian: China Rasoi Pho: Saigon Gyros: Athen’s Real Mexican: Azteca Groceria Latin: La Brasa Burgers: Rhea’s Barbecue: Swallow at the Hallow Paninis: Metanoya Chicago eatery: Bobby G’s Asian fusion: Fishbow Asian Bistro Soup and sandwich: Ah your employer is an excellent choice, Edible Expressions, Fickle Pickle Malaysian: Rasa Sayang Lebanese: Byblos Fried Chicken: Roswell Kitchen

White House Subs has the best sammiches on the planet.

It's on Old Marlton Pike in Marlton: http://www.luigispizzafresca.com/

I absolutely add Tacconelli's along with Pizza Fresca. BTW, as far as far as screw Philly Mag, I have found South Jersey Magazine shockingly accurate for a fairly small time publication. http://www.southjersey.com/best/ I have used them as a source for I guess three years and clearly they have a serious foodie or two on their staff.

I am very confident that whatever was in the bottle was not a refill from WaWa, nor a Slurpee from 7-11. My friend from college came to town way back in the day and he do thought it was the single dumbest name he ever heard. Florida raised wife gets a kick out of it, but as as Ellen Cho said, I guess I was used to it and never gave the name much thought until out of towners kept cracking up at the name.

I will agree for 3:00 A.M. they are tough to beat, but I can't see myself getting a hoagie at 3:00 in the afternoon there with so many other choices. However I've been to some parties who would get their foot long hoagies and I knew for that the quality/cost ratio is excellent. As born Yankee and long time transplanted southerner I'd say purely from a meal standpoint they beat the Waffle House for 24/7, but it lacks the charm of our WH.
-
Just to clarify the family still loves in the area (parents same house in fact) so the Primos hoagie was last year. My restaurant addiction never goes on vacation so I recently chowed on many a hoagie and steak: White House hoagie (heaven), Chick's Cold Cuts (no wonder Philly magazine did the blasphemy of naming a Joisey place best cheesesteak two years ago), Gaetano's (I don't get the hype), Jim's (very good). And as far as sandwiches, OMG Kibitz Room is sensational.
-
Two places that I don’t seem to love as much as the rest of the world would be Gaetano’s and Primo’s. But in both cases it’s mainly because I don’t like the roll. Do they use the same bakery? Also from my days of living in the Debellaware Valley (moved 1988) I didn’t remember chicken cheese steaks or roasted pork. Are these relatively new phenomenons? What will the next trend be? Ham cheesesteak? Salmon cheesesteak?

Famous Dave’s is average to below average. If you must eat at a ‘cue chain, Smokey Bones is a better option. I know there is one in Reading but not sure if any closer. To the Bush bashers, Famous Dave’s will more than make you feel welcome. When the bill comes they will be happy to overtax you.

Thanks for the tips. BTW, to extend my route, we actually would pick up route 206 in Medford, take it through Shamong, make the right at Atsion Lake and take that to the White Horse Pike. I don’t know if anyone is familiar with that route at all and I know there is a ton of Pine Barron land. But if by chance there is a hidden gem in that extended route please let me know.

Any good, casual must eat places going to or from the casinos?

Pizza Fresca in Marlton.

I've gotten it at Publix down south.

Taylor Pork Roll ™ is a great breakfast sandwich. Then there is Lebanon bologna, a favorite of my grandparents.

Maple syrup? Yikes. Okay I will have to read this entire thread as I know scrapple is the most multifaceted grub worldwide. I don’t think there is a food item that I’ve heard with more varied toppings and condiments. It’s a crispy scrapple sandwich topped only with catsup. This is no other RIGHT way.
