Chef Harry’s Bio

Chef Harry, a Jersey City native was born into a large and close Italian family, with Grandmother Anna as the matriarch. Grandmother did most of the cooking in the house and never once used a cookbook. She fostered the passion he has today.

Chef Harry attended Hudson County Community College Culinary Arts program. Upon completion, he did a six month apprenticeship in Porto Novo, Italy. When he returned home, he accepted a Sous Chef position for Flik International at a prestigious law firm in midtown Manhattan. Later he went on to pursue endeavors with Sodexho/Marriot joining their Health Care Division.

As an Executive Chef of Sodexo/Marriot, Chef Harry was elected Vice President of the Northern New Jersey Chef Association, and in 2005 Food Champion for the state of New Jersey. He has won numerous chef competitions earning both silver and double gold medals. He also has taught Culinary Foundation classes at Keane College in New Hampshire. He has attended classes at both the Napa Valley and Hyde Park, NY’s Culinary Institute of America (CIA), and is an active member of the American Culinary Foundation.

Today, Chef Harry is the Executive Chef at Clara Maass Medical Center an associate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System in Bellville, New Jersey. He is also the proprietor of Anastasia’s Catering with his wife and love of his life Lorraine
