  4. River Palm Terrace in Edgewater has a better steak than any place I've been to.

    NJ snow

yeah, it had nothing in its belly. It was heavy though :)

    NJ snow

We cooked a 1/4 of it cajun, on a glowing red hot pan (1/2 of what I'm holding, 3 mins per side). Burnt butter, fire, what's better? We'll end up cooking another portion of it Monday. Awesome! PS: it was caught by the Sandy Hook Bug Light See my bro's article: Fish Here!

    NJ snow

Well, despite what I said earlier, I cancelled my reservation tonight. (She wouldn't let me drive to Edgewater ) I guess it'll be fish for dinner ... my brother's 42 pound striper caught on Thursday. There was a blurb about this in today's Asbury Park Press (Mike Faccas). Just figured I'd share this with all you guys.

    No snow will stop me!
  10. And was it good!! I love some of the expressions I get when I ask for Pork Roll in Manhattan. PR was one thing I missed when I lived there. Honestly, today, I wouldn't go to RPT. But to give (all of) you some history, one year ago I popped the big question in Edgewater. So, I'm determined to make Edgewater RPT a yearly tradition (at least that's what I tell her ).
  11. I call it pork roll and I usually don't get it w/ketchup, but I felt like trying it. I suppose it was snow that put me in a weird mood Besides, what kind of wacko would go out in this weather anyway? PS: River Palm Tonight, regardless of the weather. I hope I don't slide into the Hudson trying to get there
  12. A/K/A - "the slider" What's inside? The Slider ... definitely detrimental one's health ask for it by name
  13. Rosie, another typical discouraging example? PS: I love jambalaya. That alone will get me there, regardless.
  14. I'm glad to hear it from you, Rachel. I've always herd mixed things. Based on your experience, I'll make it a point to check it out next time I'm in town. Thanks
  15. What's the deal with Schaefer? Every time I'm ready to go there, I hear something discouraging.
  16. ... Oh yeah, and Scalini Fedeli in Chatham is like dining in an Italian heaven. PS: they don't have an official website and they're byo (sort of).
  17. So, how was it? Maybe he's still there. LOL ... I wish I was still there! I discovered I like the German potatoes, provided I saturate them with the steak juices. Their quality of their porterhouse is unprecedented. However, they simply can't cook it the way I ask, black and blue. The steak was simply rare. I prefer steak with more charring. It looked better charred at MediumRare. Maybe I'll try MR next time? Either way the steak is fantastic. Every time I go, I'm faced with a dilemma: What should I have for dinner, bacon or Steak? So far, I've always opted for the steak - I can't make it at home.
  18. I've been to only one restaurant in Morristown - Pamir. Being one of Syrian descent, I thought they had very good Arab food (Afghan, the only one in the state). Grab a bottle of wine (BYO), take your shoes off and sit in the front window with 5 friends. I recommend it. When your ready to venture out, take a 15 minute ride west down 24 to Sammy's in Mendham - a "must have experience" (at least once). I have not had better shrimp scampi anywhere and they have good steak (but expensive). I like this topic; now I'm learning something about Morristown too. Keep it going!
  19. ... and the one at Costco tastes exactly the same as the one in the restaurant. A success, I guess, for them.
  20. I was just informed that I'm going to Luger's tonight. I'm going with high hopes and expectations. I'm expecting nothing short of the best. I'm excited Stand by...
  21. Where can I get the best New England Clam Chowder in NJ? I'll be in Cape May tomorrow (Sat-Sun), any good ones down there? Thanks.
  22. A/K/A - "the slider"
  23. That's +2 for Kinchley's. I'll be there. Thanks again.
  24. what about oyster stew?
  25. Based on the name alone, it sounds like my kind of place! I'll check it out! Thanks...
