  7. Thai Chef - branch just opened in Riverside Square although it is primarily Japanese menu Englewood - on the rise, Montclair falling
  8. also increasing # of places in Westwood
  9. while these towns lack "good" upscale restuarants I do see a trend in increasin upscale restaurants in these high end real estate areas. (atleast in summit, Montclair, Ridgewood
  10. reason for the note that homes overpriced. When housing prices go up in certain towns (Montclair, Ridgewood) more restaurants show up. With the added restaurants perhaps more people see the town as attractive creating a positive vibe or allure that further increases housing prices. As the housing prices increase, more seemingly upscale restaurants pop up.
  11. [Have you ever been hungry? Truly, painfully hungry? The kind of hunger that sears through your belly, making you feel hot and cold and weak, that takes over your brain so there seems to be nothing in the world to think about except your need to eat. ] - Luckily not. HAVE YOU MSP. I hope you are not on the fundraising committee.
  12. decent restaurants, overpriced homes for such a bad school system, good train system IS IT WORTH THE trip for a Meal anymore. I used to frequent Thai Chef frequently when it was small. Now with expansion and slow service and food not as good. Overall has the rest of NJ caught up with Montclair.
  13. I did leave out Epernay which is good and other places as well but is the dining experience in Montclair less than it once was??

Chicken Ginger worthy of take out - nice people
  17. I have seen lobsters go anywhere from 10 dollars a pound to 25 a pound. See Morton's prices
  18. A group of us were interested in going to EL CId. we were curious on pricing of the lobsters and were told that price cannot be disclosed on the phone. A lady there told us this. The other day we call and a guy answers and says at 4:45 he does not know the price for the lobsters and hangs up on us. As we were looking for a place for a decent sized work group, we wanted to make sure the price was within a certain range and we could not and chose to not go to El Cid. We wound up at M&S ($30 for app and dinner for most w/o wine) and I was totally disappointed. -new place Ohashis also in Riverside by the Thai Chef people (they are trying to pawn overpriced presliced sushi served by teenagers) - they also have some of the noodle dishes from Thai Chef.
  19. looks like a total dive.
