  1. If you're still reading this line of responses, my husband and I had a favorite hole in the wall in Crystal City, VA. We've moved to Michigan this year, and we are both still craving Kabob Palace take-out. It's behind a 7-11, and always looks a little sketchy, but the service is great, and the food was some of my favorite. The bone-in chicken kabob with the spicy rice and either the lentils or the chickpeas was my favorite. This place was most assuredly not an overpriced, snobby DC hang out. Plus, the bread was bigger than your head--a full meal ran about $5. Now I'm hungry.
  2. The ground spam and velveeta recipe is what my family calls Pizza Burgers. They now, thank god, replace the spam with ground beef. Interestingly, this is a meal that has been served from 1950 to the present at the Howland Public Schools in Ohio. Although I now like to think I enjoy slightly more sophisticated food, there is nothing like a good pizza burger with potato chips eaten in a swim suit at the beach house for lunch--reminds me of being a kid.
  3. Thank you so much for that article. I forwarded on to my husband, who this week watched in awe as I ate raw cookie dough while weeping at the Tim Horton's commercial of the kids in Scotland getting a Timmy's coffee maker. We're newlyweds. Right On.
