Hi all! Been lurking for a while but I thought I would pop my head up over the parapet one last time. My wife and I are permanently leaving London for New Zealand at the end of March and as a result we would be very grateful if you could make any suggestions for our "last supper" in London. All price brackets and locations considered, we are looking for the best culinary experience so we can take those exquisite memories of our last meal with us on our journey! We recently visited Providores for dinner with family that were over from New Zealand (mainly because of the NZ chef). Service was very attentive and obliging and the food was a delicious modern fusion with a good balance of flavours. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh, and for desert, try the Saffron - chilli poached quince with the New Zealand favourite, Hokey Pokey ice cream. Yum! http://www.theprovidores.co.uk

Many thanks for the suggestions that should keep us going for a little while. Putney Bridge was already under consideration as we live just down the road. We also got as far as the front door of Hakkasan but turned back as it seemed more of a bar than restaurant, shall have to rectify this. However, this Friday we've opted for Babylon in Kensington... is this a wise decision? ...and as for Oxo, Mezzo and Quags, each to their own, eh? Some of us aren't as well travelled just yet... Hi all I am looking for a new destination restaurant to take my partner for a romantic meal ideally somewhere in Central/South West London. Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully recieved. As an idea of the sort of thing we are looking for, we have eaten and enjoyed the following restaurants... Providores, Chez Bruce, Polygon, Teatro, Otto, Mezzo, Oxo Tower and Quaglinos.
