  1. Oops.. sorry to be getting to this so late, so if you have already made your trip forgive me. I live in Lexington, and while there are a few gems, you will find that it is really over-run with chains and mediocre places. I was at a party not too long ago with some people who owned a few of the nicer places in town and there was a great discussion about how a town as diverse as Lexington could be so lacking in the dining experience. 1. Ed and Fred's Desert Moon downtown is pretty tasty. The atmosphere is key to the enjoyment though. 2. Bistro 147 - very very yummy. 3. Joe Bolognas 4. Emmett's 5. Dudley's 6. It is hard to find a good breakfast, but there is a sweet little french bakery called Le Matin, that is delish. hope you have/had fun Jamie

    Two-tone Oreos

I have to stand up for those MINT Oreo's. I think they are yummy. I am a mint-a-holic anyhow, so maybe I do not have an objective say in this, but I think they deserve a try at least...yummy!
  3. Macaroni and Cheese...biscuits and gravy...chicken and dumplins.. we eat everything in two's. Ale-8-1, RC, Coke meanin every carbonated beverage... My granny's blackberry jam on buttered biscuits, cornbread broken up in some buttermilk. polk greens, turtle soup, Macaroni and canned maters, PRALINES red-eye gravy, chocolate gravy... i think i need to stop with Granny's jam cake with caramel-rum icing.
  4. My boyfriend and I like to venture out to get breakfast when I come to town to visit, and I have two favorites. 1. Blue Plate Cafe on Poplar, the biscuits are kind of odd.. but the pancakes are yummy. 2. Brother Junipers, the atmosphere is odd, the manager (owner?) was very visibly disciplining his children who were working for him, on the floor, but the food is delightful. It's in the mall @ Peabody Place, but Puccini and Pasta has a deliscious tomato cream sauce.
