About Me
I'm what I describe to folks I first meet as an amateur gourmet chef. I love feeding others, and when I put out the word that I'm cooking, our table is always full. I was informally trained by two wonderful teachers--my great Aunt Helen, who was the live in chef for a rich family on Chicago's North Shore in the 50s through 70s (classic Julia Child-style French cooking), and my nanny growing up, Cioci Vicky, who taught me about all sorts of stick-to-your-ribs, comfort food. Since then I've branched out into lots of other avenues, but always love going back to my roots (so to speak).
