  1. I am also a little late to the thread. I had my first experience last month. It was my first time at a gelateria and I was totally hooked. I think I am swinging by on friday, I cant wait!
  2. Prob too late for this but for a good German experience in CC try Ludwig's Garten on 13th and Samson. http://philadelphia.citysearch.com/profile/11352827
  3. I will never again... leave unwrapped butter near the garlic. Butter flavored garlic and buttermilk pancakes do not mix well
  4. I love Daisy. As a PR from Brooklyn myself she is a great role-model. I love watching her show because it reminds me of all the wonderful foods my abuelita (grandmother) made. I feared that I wouldnt have access to those types of PRican dishes because I dont have any of the recipes written down. But after watching Daisy's show I now can cook food I havent had in ages. After reading this thread I am motivated to go out and fianlly buy her book.
  5. I got some at Wegman's and BBQ'd it with a soy/brown sugar glaze and it was yummy
  6. Would you all suggest reservations for dinner during the week?
  7. I brought some pasteles home with me two xmas ago and offered one to my bf. Upon opening it he exclaimed "This looks like haggis". I nearly died laughing. This past xmas, at the dinner table, I told my family what he said and you would have thought that this was the gravest offense they have ever heard. LOL. They do look kinda gross but are oh so good.
  8. I cannot stand pudding or jello. It's a consistency issue I think.
