I was born in Baltimore Md., and I grew up fishing and crabbing the estuaries of the Chesapeake Bay. I no longer live there, but my fondest memories are of the steamed crab feasts, from just-caught blue crabs in the traps off the end of our pier on the Seneca River. They were always steamed, never boiled, on an outside brick charcoal grill right by our family pier. Old Bay and rock salt only. Heaven "down the shore, Hon!"

I put myself through school in part by working in restaurants, starting with dishwasher and ending with appetizers and steaks. Now I am a cognitive neuroscientist, but still a committed foodie!
