Paradasia

I am a Canadian, currently residing in Malaysia where I operate a wholesale business exporting fresh produce. If you take a look at my website you will see we offer more than 30 different products, but at present our most popular products are Starfruit, Pomelo, Mangosteen, Jackfruit, and Dragon Fruit (Pitaya), which together make up more than 80% of the business. Our Main customers are in Europe and Canada, but I am actively working on a plan to get approval so we can begin shipping selected products to the USA.

I had the fortune of working in a multi-national environment for a great many years across quite a few countries, and through this opportunity I have had the chance to learn about foods from many different corners of the globe. I originally hail from Vancouver, but after stints in Calgary and Toronto, I began an expat life in the UK, Japan, Korea, and now Malaysia. During these postings I also spent quite a lot of time working and eating (or should I say eating and working…) in France, Germany, India, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia, and also to a lesser degree in Spain, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia.

I guess I got into the produce business because of my great love of food, and my endless fascination with exotic cuisine, which I am looking forward to sharing with other members in the eGullet society.
