We were in South Tahoe last week and were very pleased with our meals at Evan's and Cafe Fiore. Both were small intimate places with good service and delicious meals. On the downside, we had a very bad dinner at Orchid's Thai food. Each of the curries tasted as though it came from the same curry packet and the rice came out as one big, mushy glob. Terrible.

I would hold off on Club New Pattaya. Its more of a bar and rather seedy. Better to try Siam Garden on Nimitz. Its in the same shopping center as Eagle Cafe, clean, comfortable and very good food. Pae Thai on King Street and Chiang Mai on King Street also come close to the food you can get in Thailand. It looks like I'll be putting Bangkok Thai on my list.

My long-time favorite has been Tokkuri Tei, however I recently visited Momomo. They have an interesting menu with great sashimi and some 'trendy' new rolls. Lots of new things to try -like the tofu they cook at your table. They also have a good sake menu. Nonbei is also good with a more subdued atmosphere than either Momomo or T.Tei.
