  1. Have any of you fellow foodies tried a lychee? It is a fruit native to China that closely resembles a plum. It comes in a spiny shell, but once you peel the shell off you reveal the juicy translucent fruit inside. They are sweet like candy, and quite addictive. I just found that one of my local ethnic markets sells fresh ones (Grand Mart on Duke street for any DC/MD/VA folks) and I've just been eating the fruit by itself, but do any of you have any good recipes that include lychee?

    Rhubarb

Okay, I almost hate to say this but I've never had rhubarb.... I'm very interested to try it, but what does it taste like? Does it assume the flavor of whatever you cook it with? Very very interested to know!
  3. Hands down it would have to be my friend's mother's cheesecake. I have searched high and low for a cheesecake that compared to this one, and have yet to find it. It is made with a crust of crushed Lorna Dune cookies and 4 sticks of butter....and then an additional 5 sticks in the cake itself. Heart attack on a plate, but I swear I would gladly substitute sex for one bite of this decadent treat. I'm getting warm just THINKING about it!
  4. I used to HATE Salmon....that and asparagus. Now, I can't get enough of either!!
  5. Thanks for all of your help! i was a bit confused as to wether quarry tile is the same as ceramic tile, but I'm going to go back and look at home depot.
  6. Hello all! I'm a new poster to egullet, but I have read many of your posts on pizza stones. I am interested in purchasing some of the unglazed quarry stones that have been mentioned, but every place that I've called says they don't have them!! I've tried home depot, flooring stores, tile stores, concrete makers, the whole nine and NOBODY has them. yes, I'm cheap and would rather pay $5 for the tiles than $40 for an actual pizza stone. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can go in the area to find these tiles? THANKS!!
