  1. Tell me about it! I swear that Moosh and Ling are going to turn me into a diabetic if I keep accompanying them on their chocolate cake mission. It wasn't until about 4 hours later that I finally felt the sugar coursing through my blood subside.
  2. Tiramisu is probably one of my fav types of desserts. I'm a true coffee addict so anything with a chocolate, coffee combo does it for me, but I was a bit disapointed in the tiramisu at Ganache Patisserie. I was hard pressed to find anything more than a hint of coffee flavour in the entire cake and I didn't even notice if there was any rum added or not. For me the flavours were much too light, there wasn't that hit robust coffee and rum flavour that makes a tiramisu so good. But what I did love was the Chocolat-Banane! I thought that this rivaled the Caramel-Chocolat for the best one. It was mouthwatering, and I practically had the whole thing to myself!
  3. I've always had luck with Langley Farms Market. They are located in Maple Ridge on Lougheed Highway, Pitt Meadows on Harris Road and in Langley near Willowbrooke Mall. It's worth the detour if you're ever in the vicinity, their produce is always fresh and very reasonably priced with a good variety. They carry a good selection of local farmers produce when in season.
  4. Having lived in the Burnaby area since December, I'm having a difficult time finding restaurants and cafe's to frequent. It seems to me that the Burnaby/Coquitlam area is mostly populated with chain restaurants and fast food joints. Casa Dolce in Port Moody is definitely one of my fav. places to go for gelato, especially their peanut butter and chocolate gelato which is unbelievably delicious. St. James Pub in New Port Village (next to Casa Dolce) has some decent pub food at reasonable prices, although I found their drink menu to be a bit on the expensive side. Their turkey, brie and strawberry sandwhich is a tasty little combination on sourdough and their homemade asparagus, crab and guiness soup is also pretty good. There is a little sushi restaurant on Lansdowne and Guilford in a strip mall called Sushi Turn House that is in my opinion one of the best places to for sushi around that area and very reasonably priced. If your desparate for a sushi fix and don't want to drive into the city it's a good place to try. I find it a better place for takeout rather than eating in, there is limited seating and it can get quite busy. Their rolls are absolutley delicious and their pieces of sashimi are very generous.
