  1. Thanks for all the suggestions. Well most of the guys are coming down from Montreal. The Bachelor lives in Baltimore, several guys in Boston, and one from Chicago. Basically we picked NY cause it is in the middle. So Roberts it is. What about Blue Ribbon Oyster? We are not going to visit any strip clubs (I know what you are all thinking, we are NOT GAY, but my best mate refuses to do that). One guy who live in Manhattan is choosing the club/lounge/bar. However again any suggestions would be appreciated for clubs. The day after the party we are heading to China Town for dim sum, I don't know the name of the place but it is up an escalator, and the room in HUGE. I went there couple of years ago and loved it. My e-mail is Kaunteya@hotmail.com Thanks guys
  2. We (10 guys) are going down to Manhattan from Montreal mid-April to throw bachelor party for one not so fortunate bachelor. I am a chef here in Montreal, so only expect the best. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a restaurant where we could be loud and have a great time. I was thinking about Momofuko Noodle Bar, The Spotted Pig, or a great steak house (none that I know of). We are looking to spend around $120-140/head, hopefully your best man only marries once. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
  3. I have to agree. Furi knives are not as great as Global, but there are many brands better than global. A knife is an investment that you should expect to last a long time if you plan on using it only at home. I would definetely get a good knive, solid blade that does not require much attention to shapening and honing. Global, MAC, Misono, Wusthof all do that. The wusthof grand prix II chef knife will last you many years. Only about 40 bucks more that an average Furi. I am a professional chef, work at Joe Beef, and I know the importance of a solid knife that stays sharp after hundreds of hours of use. Good luck.
  4. There is a guy who live in Lachine, his name is paul and he sells authentic Japanese knives out of his home. His website is paulsfinest.com. I bought a MAC Mighty 9" chef knife for $140 last december. I shopped around but the best I could find on a MAC Mighty 9" knife was $225. He carries the entire range from high-end to everyday use knives, over several different brands and prices. You even save a few bucks if you pick up your order, I think it was around 5 bucks. Trust me you won't find a better deal anywhere in Montreal.
  5. Last August I went to Quebec City with my girlfriend. We stayed the Dominion Hotel which is located in the Old part of the city. Dominion hotel was stunning, the best part was the bed. I have never had a better sleep in my life. We ate at L'echaude (a bistro), no complains. The only problem with Quebec City is that most restaurants have the same menu, with minor variations. Montreal has dozens of great boutique hotels (including the brother hotel to Dominion called St. Germain) and the number of restaurants are infinite. The greatest places to stay have aready been mentions, as have the restaurants. The best place to eat would have to be Joe Beef (but I am a bit biased)...I work there. Well, honestly for a few nights the best place would have to be Montreal, there is much more to offer than Quebec.
