Kathleen Purvis has been the food editor of The Charlotte Observer since 1989. A journalist with 25 years of experience, she has also been a copy "boy," police reporter, wire editor, copy editor and layout editor. She is a member and past officer of the Association of Food Journalists, the James Beard Foundation and the Southern Foodways Alliance.
