Piperdown ,thanks for the info, we have been to the CIA Hyde Park many times and watched the students do some excellent work with the food. Next time in Napa we will try Greystone again.
A nice Tapas place in the town of Napa called ZuZu just on the river. It has nice bar and great Tapas. We ate at the CIA Greystone for lunch, nice ,but I always thought the training chefs worked the restaurant, not so.
zhelder, during the summer and into the fall season,on Friday nights there is a car show which attracts many hot rods and custom cars. Yes they do have good dogs and fries. Maybe today, lunch will be at the Hot Dog Caboose.
Well you may be correct about the food, I only stated it was good, last time I ate there was a year ago. I had a Lobster.I hope it was a live one. Thanks for the info, I will stay away from it next time.
Bahr's Landing just off the bridge by Sandy Hook. It has a nice outside patio on the inlet also a bar . Food is good and it it casual dress, just above Bahrs is another restaurant, not sure of the name, it also has outside dining, last Monday it looked very busy .
Just had dinner at Garlic Johns, next to Zoes last week. real nice decor with very good food. Large pasta dishes which if wanted you can get a half serving.Service was pretty good. Prices also good.
Another place we visted years ago, was the Tidal Falls Lobster Pound,It is past Hancock .Take US route 1 past Hancock, look for East Side Road, before the bridge ,go to Tidal Falls road . Great place very scenic when tide changes,if the lobster pound is still there, excellent mussels, lobster rolls and Lobster .
My other half is going there for a party next week.I didn't know it was noted for it pizza. Is there a room for parties and large groups? what else is on the menu.
About "Rocca" We ate there last nite and also last Thursday ,I agree with "adeguilio", MarkK you should not judge this one late nite experience. I have had the mushroon apptizer and it was very good. I have been to Lupa and other NYC spots and have had medicore service and food. Last nite "Rocca " was very busy and the service was just fine. The food we ordered was hot and I could not have had a better meal .
The pastry chef at "Rocca " is excellent, we have tried some of her cakes and also desserts, very good. "The Market At Rocca" around the corner from the resturant in Glen Rock has her cakes on display.
If you are going to Bar Harbor,a place we went to some years ago, called The Tidal Falls Lobster Pound. It is off route 1 just outside of Ellsworth. When going to Bar harbor the road goes left at a large car dealer it was a Ford dealer.Just bear left and follow route 1 towards Hancock. You may have to ask for the road name,it is a small street which goes to the river, this is a great outside place to have Lobsters and also the best Mussels . The river goes with the tides, always changing and it is a great setting. You will make a right off Route 1, across the street was a restaurant, noe sure of the name, but check out this gem of a Lobster Pound. Wish I was going there soon. Mangia Mangia
Just wanted to add some input about this new Glen Rock restaurant " Rocca". We have been there about four times and every meal was very good. We tried the PEI smoked mussels. Pan fried mozzarella house made. sause was great with the mozzarella. the fennel salad with orange a real refreshing dish. For dinner we ordered Sea Scallops and Salmon with fennel ,excellent. other times we had the Grilled pork chop, very good portion , tender and delicious.the beef tenderlion with the blue cheese and crushed walnuts was a real treat. Desserts are one thing I just can not wait for. Hence Mangia Mangia . The warm chocolate cake and ice cream was ordered by my wife, I got to try a bite. I ordered the Cannoli with the citrus and Grand Marnier mousse, lite and delicious. I could go on,but it stopped raining and the lawn must get done. So to everyone that reads or posts on egullet ,thanks for letting me post and Mangia Mangia.
