  1. When I was in college my boyfriend lived next to an Indian Restuarant, and one of the owners sons' in the apartment next to him. We always said "hi" to him when we saw him, but we never went to his restaurant (I had no idea how great Indian food was in college). I think it was the winter of 98, but there was a bad ice storm in Vermont. The power was out for days, and it was just horrible. One day my boyfriend and I were sitting in his apartment and there was a knock on the door. The guy who lived next door had brought us a ton of amazing Indian food because he knew that we didn't have power. It was so generous of him. Even though we had never been to his restaurant he thought to bring us food during that ice storm! I still can't believe how great he was. Even though the weather was horrible we ended up having an incredible candle-lit Indian meal that night... sometimes not having electricity is a good thing :)
  2. I'm originally from Burlington, Vermont and one thing that I truely miss the the soft serve ice cream at Al's French Fries. I grew up getting a chocolate vanilla mix with crushed peanut M&M's in a cake cone. I have never found soft serve so good! Boston has a lot of great icecream places, but VT truely does it right :)
  3. This is bringing back some great memories! I was 14, a freshman in highschool. It was New Years Eve and my mom gave my friend and I a curfew of 10:30. Bethany and I went to my cousins house and "pounded" budwiser pounders! We had no idea we were going to drink, but they were there... anyway we each had about 5, but then we had to head home to make curfew. Don't remember much after that. I do know that when I arrived at home, I seranaded my mom by singing "Lady in Red" to her. Then she accused me of being drunk (I don't know what would make her think that :P). I, of course, denied it, THEN threw up in front of her! Very messy night. The best part was that the next day my mom threw a huge New Years Day party at my house for my extended family. About an hour before the party was to begin, my friend and I saw my dog licking the cake my mom had spent hours making! Well, after getting my dog away from the cake we decided that it still looked good, and never told my mom! I was in so much trouble there was no way that I would have told her! She would have been even more upset! Poor guest... they never knew the cake had been taste tested by our dog!
