Holly You might be able to answer this question since we are talking about Tony Lukes, although this might end up in the Philly thread. I noticed alot of changes at the Philly Tony Lukes, some construction, new menu, new staff, and some old staff gone. I also noticed on the sign and take out menu "Owned and Operated by the LUCIDONIO FAMILY" Is that new owners, I can't recall if that was Tony Luke's last name but i dont think it is. If there was a change in ownership, quality has remained the same.

It saddens me that no one ever mentions Texas Weiner on Route 22. One of my favorite hot dog joints, especially with the raw onions and chilli sauce.

EAST STAR RESTAURANT EAST 6971 W Main St Somerville, NJ 08876 (908) 252-1777 Fax: (908) 252-1778 East Star is an excellent choice, just a few minutes off Route 287. They have a huge selection of Salads, Fresh Sushi, Mongolian BBQ which includes, chicken, beef, pork, tofu, and shrimp. Usually 4 or 5 dumpling selections and the food itself is excellent quality, not what you come to expect from your typical buffet fare. The food is always fresh as it is fairly busy and they do a good job kleeping up and keeping the buffet full of food.

Well the Friday Night Food Club and the JAPW Crew made its way out to Stickys last week and all I have to say is.....Thank You Larry for such a great place and great food. Stickys was so good we actually did the unthinkable and went back Saturday with a new crew from JAPW who were all ready to eat. Friday night we made our way out to Stickys, after reading all the positive posts and seeing the pictures, which really left an impression and a huge craving for BBQ. As much as i enjoy Big Eds and Famous Daves, I was ready to step it up and enjoy some "real" BBQ and now Stickys is my "ATF" or All Time Favorite right now. Special thanks to Larry and his wife who made us feel like family, making sure everything was good, and even showing us his smokers and discussing his cooking techniques. It was a great experience and the owners as well as staff treated us great. We went after 8:00 both nights so it wasn't to crowded and the service was excellent despite some other posts, but I think that was the opening blues. We tried a variety of foods, everything was great, the sides were amazing, collard greens were great, some of the best I had, the baked beans and mashed potatoes were awesome as well, cole slaw was crisp and creamy, all of the sides had a home made feel to them all. The pork ribs were great, smoked to perfection and not overpowering, the brisket might be my favorite, the pulled pork was awesome as well, had to get extra bed to make sandwiches with the cole slaw. The sauces were also awesome, I was dipping everything into the Mo Jo 79 sauce, I wanted to dip the fried snickers into it cause it was so good. All in all Stickys is a special place and I hope everyone gets to try them out, Larry and his wife are great and go the extra mile. We will definetly be returning in the very near future. JAPW is planning on going after one of our events and sharing this great BBQ with all of our staff and wrestlers, it will be one hell of an after party. We took tons of pictures and will be posting them soon. Here is owner Larry with the JAPW Heavyweight Championship Belt, but on that night the BBQ Championship Belt !!!

It was great several years ago, but today it seems like your typical carnival/fair food fare. Prices seem to be very high the last few years. Sausage, Brajoile, Steak Sandwiches, various seafood and pasta, zeppolis, fried calazones, lol, actually let em take back that typical carnival food fare, there is some good stuf going on,now that I think about it, but nothing that will knock your socks off. Crowded crowded crowded, avoid Friday and Saturday if you can but if you must it is a cool experience.

Wow picklelicious looks like a great place, glad someone revived this year old thread from the dead. If anybody has been to the Meadowlands Flea Market, you have to visit the PICKLEMAN. Several varieties of pickles, plus fresh marinated mozzarella, artichokes, mushrooms, kimchee, green tomatoes, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, pickled eggs to name a few as well as nuts and other snacks. Prices are good and it is very convenient but you have to be in that flea market mindset.

Try Iberia or Iberia Penninsuala on Ferry St in Newark, very good atmosphere and moderatly priced compared to the others. If you go try the Sangria, if you are daring try the BLUE Sangria. If you really want to impress order the Rodezia for the table and get one of Iberia's 8 pound lobsters for the table to split. Did that two years ago with family visiting out of state and they are still talking about that meal.

Couple of good ones are D'Orsis Bakery in Port Reading almost near the Carteret border, been around for many many years and have been consistent in quality and price over the years. The Shoprite in Woodbridge also has a very good selection of breads very similiar to Wegmans. There is also one on route 1 south, in the area of Fords, Menlo Park, although I forgot the name of that one, they also have a very good selection as well.

Definitely try Big Eds in Old Bridge or one of their other locations, if you are hungry and want to fill up on ribs, the all you can eat ribs at Big Eds will do the trick. If you are hungry tell the waitress to keep them coming, and plate after plate of ribs will follow. You can get on the bone or boneless. Also try the beans, they are slammin, dont fill up on the garlic rolls before dinner as well as the salad which is always nice and cold and fresh, the cole slaw in my opinion is a generic kind and I am not a big fan. I also just recently tried Famous Daves in New Brunswick and Mountainside, another excellent place for ribs, I love the 6 different BBQ sauces on the table. Daves has excellent sides and bigger portions than most.
