  1. We have been to Biz Moreno twice, and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is dining at it's finest, from the service and understated decor to the highest quality food beautifully presented. The portions are small but I agree with another poster that at the end of the evening we, at least, have felt pleasantly full. We are, however, in our 50's and don't eat as much as we used to. We have enjoyed all three tasting menus. They offer the flexibility of substituting any item from the menu of your choice for any item from the other two menus, so you can truly customize your order. Of the many fine restauants we have enjoyed over many years in Seattle and Vancouver this rates amongst our favorites.
  2. The following restaurants have bar seating with full menus and fresh seafood: Shuckers (wonderfully fresh cooked whole Dungeness), Waterfront (a knockout Dungeness salad ), and the Dahlia Lounge (Tom Douglas owns this and Etta's, which does have more seafood choices but is older and has less ambiance, if that's a factor). Elliot's is very popular with out-of-towners, possibly because it seems to be the seafood restaurant most recommended by hotel concierges.
  3. Victoria is touristy, but there are several fine restaurants. Our favorite is Camilles (camillesrestaurant.com) for its exquisite food, superb service and romantic atmosphere. Others are: The Tapas Bar (fun, casual, good food, in an alley); Harbour Canoe Club (great fish and chips, English pub, waterfront), Ches Daniels (French), The Bangal Bar (in the Empress Hotel; a must see, even if you don’t eat there); Herald Street Caffe (upscale bistro); and The Victorian (in the Ocean Pointe Resort, outstanding cuisine, superb night views, formal setting).
