I'm a thirty-something guy living in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. I've never received any formal training as a cook, but have been an avid amateur for years. I spent several years managing a high-end deli, which is where I was really introduced to the wonderful world of cheese, olives, oils, and other gourmet nicities. Madison is fortunate enough to be the home of one of the country's best farmers market, and also is a hotbed of organic agriculture, so I try to take advantage of the variety and seasonality our community affords when I cook. Because I live alone, (and have a microscopic kitchen) I often only cook for one, but I definately enjoy entertaining, so I often have people over for dinner or parties several times a week. I also really enjoy hunting down great restaurants while traveling -- something I do quite often.
