  1. I'm curious as to how it tastes and works overall for most baking. Also, can you use it when doing things like beating egg whites and such, or should you just stick to granualted sugar? Thought I'd ask the experts before I start experiementing.
  2. A yummy morning beverage is hot Dr. Pepper. Yes, HOT Dr. Pepper. I remember touring the Pepsi plant on a field trip in grade school, and the man who was giving the tour told us all to try it. It has a nice almondy flavor and just the right amount of zing to get you revved up.
  3. So-Good-You-Wanna-Marry-'Em Chocolate Chip Cookies 1 c vegetable shortening (do not use butter flavored) 3/4 c light brown sugar, firmly packed 3/4 c granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp hot water 1 tsp vanilla 1-1/2 c all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp table salt 2 c quick oats 1 pkg chocolate chips (I prefer milk chocolate chips) In a large bowl, cream together: shortening brown sugar granulated sugar eggs Add: hot water vanilla In a separate bowl sift together, then add: flour soda salt Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake at 400º for 6 - 8 minutes. Remove from oven when edges begin to turn golden, they should be slightly gooey in the center. Cool and enjoy! 4. Does anyone bake with baking stones? I've used them for cookies at home for 8 years, and I couldn't conceive of using anything else (I'm trying to figure out how the heck I'll afford them if I ever live my dream of opening my own bakery). Cookies turn out perfectly every time.
