  1. neophyte, If you're at the bar at Citronelle, you may just wind up under the table.
  2. Mark, Other than that seafood tower at Oceanaire, not much else is worth getting, n'est-ce pas? Well, maybe a simply prepared piece of fresh fish.
  3. This is always a controversial topic, of course, as everyone has an opinion on pizza, salad, ice cream, cheese, etc. Well I'll chime in and say that not only does 2 Amy's have the "best" pizza I've had in the DC area, they also have some of the best desserts (maybe THE best ice cream), some of the best salads, and some of the most well-conceived cheese courses. And the wines are, in fact, pretty interesting too. And well priced, even by the glass. The Salice Salentino generally works well with their food. P.S. Get the baked olives as an appetizer and save them to put on your pizza - they have pits in them and are more interesting than the ones that come on the pizzas themselves. Also ask for fresh oregano on the side - this is not your father's oregano. 2 Amy's cranks out a lot of pizzas, yes, but I haven't seen anything yet that is as good, and I seriously doubt that I will.
  4. I'll say one thing for Zaytinya, and this may come across as derogatory but I don't mean it to be: if I was running a tour-bus company, and had a group who wanted one special meal, I would arrange a late-afternoon lunch at Zaytinya. The space is striking, the fare is exotic, the prices for each dish are reasonable, the food is perfect for people not used to fine dining, and it can handle large parties. Think about it: Zaytinya can be this generation's version of the Market Inn - instead of 100 seafood and beef entrees, it has 100 items with a Mediterranean flair. Furthermore, it's less than one short mile to the theater where Lincoln was shot, so the passengers could potentially do both in one outing.
  5. That is my favorite - YUM. Yep, nutmeg, sugar, nutmeg, some thoroughly-cooked lamb, nutmeg, eggplant, and a dash of nutmeg.
  6. They say that, to get the best view of Paris, you should always ascend the Tour Montparnasse rather than the Eiffel Tower - that way, you can see the Eiffel Tower rather than the hideous Tour Montparnasse.
