Hello and welcome! What sorts of foods do you like to eat and/or cook? What was the book in which you found eGullet?

The kitchen daughter, by Jael McHenry.  I loved this book.

And today i made fricassee of veal.  Yammie.

I love to cook Indian curries. And soup, any kind of soup.  My next soup will be mustard soup, very good.

Hi Ria, welcome to the forum.  I had a friend, many years ago go, whose name was RIA,  although she was Dutch, not Belgian.  What is mustard soup? Looking forward to your posts.

Hi Elsie,

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm belgian, dutch speaking.  Actually Flemish.  So absolutely not German!

I have tasted mustard soup in a restaurant in Holland and successfully recreated it at home. I'll have to translate....

@Rieke3520  I apologize.  I knew you were in Belgium, I don't know why I posted German.  I've corrected the post.  I'm Dutch, having been born in Holland but my mother never made anything called mustard soup.  I'm looking forward to seeing the recipe.

Ria, do you make carbonnades a la flamande? I love it dearly, and would be interested in seeing your recipe for it, if you have one.

Don't ask. Eat it.
