Fraoch

I recently bought some Fraoch, which is a Scottish heather ale. It's brewed with heather instead of hops and (IMHO) is brilliant. It's dry, has a floral aroma and a full taste which is quite unlike most other beers. I'm going to be drinking a lot more of it. Has anyone else tried it? I'm not sure it's available outside the UK though.

Yes, it is rather nice. The same people make several other 'historic' ales (see link), of the ones I have tasted the heather and the gooseberry are the nicest, the elderberry is very nasty (I like dark ales, but not his one), the pine and seaweed I haven't tasted.

I've tried the Pine and Elderberry. Both were alright, though I liked the Elderberry more.

I've seen nearly all of them in Happy Deli (48th & 8th). I haven't looked in any of the other beeraterias for them yet.
