  1. does anyone know where continental west is going to be?
  2. I would like it if the state store employees were just a tad more knowledgable. I don't mean the boutique level of service, where you expect the employees to know the kind of soil the grapes were grown in, the climate of the region and the differences between vintages. I'm thinking of really basic questions like, is this a full bodied wine? How about a riesling that's not sweet? If I say I'm looking for a wine to go with dessert, please don't point me to the gallon jugs that say "DESSERT WINE." Am I asking too much? Usually the people I talk to are very nice; they try to be helpful but they are completely clueless.
  3. Try Jubilee Chocolates - http://www.jubileechocolates.com/. They are in west philly and use locally grown organic flavorings. But that's not why you should try them. The candies are tiny, beautiful, intensely flavored and not too sweet (godivas are too sweet for me). They do unusual flavors like bergamot, saffron and rosewater, and lavender honey, as well as the standards.
  4. They are also at 33rd and spruce thursdays 12:00 to 3:00. Try the jersey queen peaches. Don't forget to ask for a napkin to wipe the juices off of your chin.
  5. we're definately going to hit some of the wineries in the area. are there any in the area that we shouldn't miss?
  6. I'm staying there for a week. Please don't tell me I'm going to have to eat at the ramada inn dining room the entire time. There's got to be something around that's at least decent. I will have a car and can travel to surrounding towns if necessary. Where do the locals eat?
  7. I'm staying in hamilton, ontario for the world championship bike race in october. I am looking for some restaurant recommendations in the area. I am interested in good and fresh down home cooking, not particularly fancy or expensive. I'll have a car so I can travel to some of the surrounding towns if that's where the good eats are to be found.
