  1. Hi, new member here, I was specifically looking for someone's experience with this pan and found this site, and I will use this information, but I'm wondering if you missed a step. Shouldn't you put butter on the bottom of the pan before you add the potatoes and put it in the oven? I have the Mauviel 6.3 pan which is a smaller pan, so I"m thinking that I'll only need about 1.5 lbs. so, clarified butter on the bottom with the rosemary and then the potato slices? Would that be correct? I'm also thinking that the first area for making the dish would be on the stove top and then putting it into the oven? Thanks! Joy
