I just found this thread. It's been so many years from the last post. Over 50 years ago , as a college student , I had a part time job selling at the front counter at Sutter's in Brooklyn. I got my job through a friend of my father's , another Greek immigrant, who worked as a pastry chef. Another fine person was an older man, Peter, who was one of the managers. The products were fabulous. I never forgot the cookies, chocolate cream pies, eclairs, napoleons and buttercream slices. The chocolate fudge cake was a favorite for many kids. Over the years I shopped at the Greenwich Village location, same great quality. Bakeries came and went, I remember Jon Vie also in the Village. If you open a new Sutter's would be great. You might want to publish a book with all the Sutter's receipes. I am sure many people would be delighted to buy the book and savor the incredible pastries.
