Not sure if anyone still cares, but my wife and I went to the Salvadoran place on Aurora (she's Salvadoran), and it was good, not great. Had pupusas, which I have to compare to both her grandmothers and to the Salvadoran Bakery in White Center. Both are definitely better, but I don't imagine you'll probably be getting any of grandma's. So, go the White Center, and get the ones w/ cheese and loroco, the flower/herb. Plus, the salsa's WAY better in WC. The aurora joint's salsa was very much like water and ketchup with a pinch of old pepper.

I have a similiar problem, kinda. My preferred hangout is a neighborhood bar where I love the people, the space, the prices, and the ice cold beer, but it has a terrible booze/mixer selection, so pickiness and/or difficult to explain drinks don't work. So I drink Bourbon Press (club soda w/ a splash of sprite) with bitters. Easy, quick, basic, deliciousness aplenty as long as you order good bourbon.

I was just at Trader Joe's looking for interesting mixers myself. Don't get me wrong, I love all the fresh fruit muddling (bought some figs when I was there), rare liqueurs, bitters, herbs, spices, etc that can go into cocktails, and I spend a fair amount of time on them. But I can't find anything wrong with using good quality juice-esque stuff from a bottle. I even bought some aloe-blended-with-something-else juice. Sounds kind of disgusting. We'll see.

This sounds ridiculously good to me, but I'm a little sissypants-ish about dropping fifty bucks for 375 ml. Has anyone here tried it?

I don't think I'm allergic really, since I eat it all the time, but I did itch the corners of my eyes right after handling some dungeoness crab in a very nice restaurant. My eyes swelled 95% shut. It's a pretty hot look.
