I have never posted on egullet before and I can think of no better time to start than the passing of Matt. Losing him has left my head and heart very heavy for the past week. A day doesn't go by that I don't see his smiling face at the end of my bar or hear his growling voice order some obscure cocktail from some out of print cocktail book he just read. I miss him more than I can express to anyone close to me. He was not only my favorite customer but a kind, generous and learned friend - something there is too few of in this world today. I imagine he probably is in heaven at the Angel's Share bar sandwiched between Jerry Tomas and Charles Baker Jr. drinking and having a conversation he's always dreamed about. Here's How! Matt
