You may want to look out for the following cheeses... Graviera which has a slightly nutty and sweet flavor similar to Gruyere. Another cheese is Kaseri which is similar in texture to Provolone but much stronger in taste. As for Greek wines I'm sorry I have not tasted any. Please let me know if you find a wine that really stands out. Tess, Malmsey is a grape that is used on the island of Madeira to make Malmsey which is the sweetest, richest style of Madeira. Simon

Try some Merlots from Washington State. With the warm days and cool nights Merlot from this region tends to hold more interest than California Merlot. Don't get me wrong California does make some nice Merlots (e.g Pride) but look out for NW producers like Andrew Will, L'Ecole, Barnard Griffin & Bookwalter. Cheers, Simon

Just found the board and this is my first post.. The Rhone did hit a brick wall with the '02 vintage for sure. The thicker skinned Syrah did a little better in the North but I would buy carefully from the '02. There are still plenty of '01's around and the 2003 vintage is shaping up to be above average. The problem with 2003 Rhones is that we will probably see a price increase because yields were down and some producers will need to recoup some of the money they lost by not making wine in 2002!
