This is how it was explained to me…The plan checkers take on these fast tracked jobs after regular business hours to make extra money (overtime). If they have plans after work or have a party to go to on the weekend then you’re out of luck. We found in the end that money does actually talk at city hall so…instead of the process taking six weeks to complete it took about one. I have to say that we were quite happy to have the option of paying the extra fee of, as Jamie said, $1600.00 ( $175.00 per hour).
