  1. Lou, I'm telling you we will definitely be there SOON! You're too nice! I'm looking forward to it! (: Liz
  2. So sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys! Its just that like I said, we have a 1 yr. old and a 2 yr. old (almost 3). I'm also not used to being a stay at home mom...Sept. through June, I teach Kindergarten....let me just say that staying at home is not all its cracked up to be! Lou, Thanks so much for the hospitality! We will DEFINITELY be in there SOON! The Moroccan place is called : Al Kasbah, and its at 141 East Route 46, Budd Lake - in a strip mall next to a laundromat- the phone # is 973-448-0990. I'm not a big fan of Moroccan food, but it has a nice interior with couches, ottomen and coffee type tables. The belly dancer is there on Friday and Saturday nights, and its BYOB. The Thai place I definitely recommend is called: Thai Nam Phet 296 Rt. 46 East in Rockaway - an old diner looking place - the phone # is 973-627-8400 I'm a HUGE fan of Thai food, and although it doesn't quite beat Bangkok Garden in Hackensack, its the best we've got up here...and its also BYOB. Hubby, kids, and I can usually be found there on Friday nights! (: Let me know if any of you venture out to these two! I'd love to know what you think! Liz
  3. Gosh! You know the funny thing??? I was just talking to my neighbor on Wednesday about An American Grill...I was raving about a new Thai restaurant in Rockaway..surprisingly good food for "up here". I'm originally from Kearny and have not been too satisfied with the restaurants up here since the move. Anyway, my neighbor was saying that An American Grill was excellent...and his wife's favorite. I said that I had heard that and was dying to go...just wasn't sure if it was kid friendly and hadn't had the opportunity to get a babysitter yet so I could try it out! (: Now you guys are mentioning it. I MUST GO! Just not sure about the anniversary thing. After reading Rosie's NEW post on Zoe's by the Lake, I think that I'm convinced! However, I definitely will be going to An American Grill, soon! Could someone please let me know about the kid thing. My children are 1 and 2, but very used to behaving in decent restaurants. Last night, we did Moroccan in Budd Lake. The food was enh...but my daughter LOVED the 'princess" AKA Belly Dancer! Thanks to all of you guys for all of your wonderful advice! WOW!
  4. You guys are so great! I'm thrilled with your responses, and visited each link plus read the entire strand on the Village Green...Gosh, I'm hungry (and thirsty ) after reading that one! I've heard wonderful things about Silver Springs Farm...actually I live very close to there. However, I'm wondering about the portion sizes not only there, but at Zoe's and the Village Green...? Hubby has a large appetite and doesn't want to spend good money on a few bites. I was actually looking at the tasting menu at Zoe's on the 14th...but you guys have convinced me that one way or another I must try the Village Green. Oooh! What to do?!
  5. Hi all! Just wondering if you could help me plan both the gift (certificate) and the dinner (double duty) for my upcoming anniversary 7/15! (: The thing is I would like it to be romantic. Price really doesn't matter too much, but I was wondering if I could work in the traditional gift of fruit or flowers into the deal. (I.E. Gift card to "The Frog and the Peach".) If not...oh well! We live in Roxbury Township which is in Morris County on the border of Sussex, but I'm totally willing to travel. Last Year we did Tim Schaefer's Cuisine in Morristown and loved it! Especially because it was BYOB! (; Any suggestions will be sincerely appreciated! Thanks, Liz
