Actually, the counter-lad said the place is nameless. "The Last Place" was his name for the...ammm... establishment (nearly said "joint" oops). I say we should name it, I vote for "L'Hamburger Caché". As to my thoughts on the burger, it was my fav so far. A nice managable hunk of comfort burger, more juicy than greasy IMHO, and very beefy. Food service fries, but at least they were crispy and I did enjoy that they came in a paper bag. Pickle-in-a-cup was interesting only due to its presentation. I liked the place as well, the tipsy kitchen, the excellent, wacky music mix and as always, the good company. The dessert. Horrible indeed. I would however call MHesse an optimist rather than a masochist. I applaud his belief that there must be some little bit of enjoyment hidden in the middle of that insidious little ball of vileness. How sad then, when he reported there was none to be found. Looking forward to our next outing! K.

If it's on the south side of Old Homestead, it's the Red Light Bistro. J & I've been there for drinks a couple of times. Never ate. Looking forward to seeing BCers again this weekend! This concludes my semi-helpful post. K.
  7. *sigh* indeed, it seems I am... just knew this was gonna happen... At least I've fallen in with a good crowd. K.
  8. Mrs. Lovett...from Sweeney Todd: that perky but ultimately tragic, that pint-sized meat pie maven; that rhyming cannibal, you know her, you love her, it's Mrs. Lovett! K.
  9. Soba and Suzanne, Picaman and I would love to attend the Pie Fest. And Suzanne, as I promised you, click here for a glimpse of nary a pie, but one big tart (not for the faint of heart ). K.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Burger Club...ahem... Ok, ya got me. Guess I'm a poster now. Ah well, what's one more obsession... Anyway, another lovely afternoon spent with excellent company and decent meat. What could be better? I liked the ToJ burger much better than the Molly's burger. It had a nice beefy flavor that unfortunately was lacking from the Molly's burger. On the other hand, I should give Molly's another try as my first burger arrived well-done when it should have been med-rare. Then by the time Elyse convinced me to switch out for the med-rare waiting Mr. Shaw's arrival, it had chilled, so my Molly's experience was, I think, somewhat different then the others in attendance. In the end though, good dining companions can can add flavor and warmth to almost any food. And damn, that Spicy Hot Chocolate from Chocolat Bar was like heaven in a cup! Elyse, I've had yet another wildly successful pie crust experience. Jamie and I had an extra slice to celebrate the Marlin victory! See you all at the next seating of the club!
