Beginning October 30, eGullet member Jon Bonne will be the new Wine Editor at the San Francisco Chronicle! Welcome, Jon! I look forward to your coverage and reviews of the California wine scene.

I've also received emails from the SF Chronicle stating that they are increasing their Friday wine section.
